Year 10 - Risky Business 

Autumn - Safety first

Theme: Gymnastics

Learning Outcomes: Students will learn the importance of flexibility, strength, control, technique, and balance in gymnastics. Students will learn that there are different ways of using a shape, balance, or travel. Students will learn how to create, perform, and repeat a combination of actions that include changes of dynamic e.g., changes of level, speed and direction, and clarity of shape.

Spring - My responsibilities

Theme: Tag Rugby (Invasion Games)

Learning Outcome: Students will learn basic movements including running, jumping, throwing, and catching, as well as developing balance, agility, and co-ordination, and begin to apply these in a range of activities. Students will participate in team games, developing simple tactics for attacking and defending. Students will learn that there are rules in games that need to be followed.

Summer - Healthy Habits

Theme: Cricket (Striking and Fielding games)

Learning Outcome: Students will know how to hit a ball with the correct technique. Students will know how to intercept and stop the ball consistently.

Year 11 - Bradford and Beyond

Autumn - My community

Theme: Gymnastics

Learning Outcomes: Students will learn how to work with a partner and in a small group, considering performance aesthetics such as spatial patterns, mirroring, and contrasting.

Spring - My country

Theme: Dodgeball (Invasion Games)

Learning Outcome: Students will learn how to choose space/ positions where they can receive a pass or pass to teammate. I know that finding and using space in game situations can achieve success. Students will learn that taking up certain spaces/positions can make it difficult for opponents. Students will learn when to apply basic attacking and defending principles – finding space (attacking), challenge a player in possession (defending).

Summer - The world I live in

Theme: Rounders (Striking and Fielding games)

Learning Outcome: Students will be able to throw/catch a ball over increasing distances. Students will learn a range of tactics and know when to apply tactics in game situations – for both fielding and striking. Students will learn when to communicate and coolaborate with others during team games.
