Who do I speak to about clubs?

Where can I drop-off or pick-up my child?

Due to the varied and complex needs of our students, just getting everyone here and home safely each day is a huge operation which takes a great deal of organisation by us and external agencies.

West Entrance on Haycliffe Lane

Many of our students use the school transport system arranged by the Council’s Passenger Transport Services (PTS).  The taxis or mini-buses use the West Entrance and are met by Southfield staff.  We operate the ‘safe and enclosed system’, which ensures that our students arrive and depart safely from the school premises. Our independent students using public transport also use the West Entrance and are supervised by Southfield staff from the moment they arrive.

Pick up and drop off in the Southfield Sixth Form (SSF)

Parents and Carers may also drop off and pick up students at the beginning / end of the day from the SSF car park.  This measure was put in place in September as a safety measure due to the number of vehicles in the local area at peak times.

Main Campus Entrance

Any parents who have appointments during the school day should use the main campus car park and arrive at the campus reception where they will be met and escorted to the appropriate location.

If you would like paper copies of anything on our website, please contact southfield@coopacademies.co.uk or ask at reception.

Make a Complaint

If you wish to make a complaint, you should do so in accordance with our Trust Complaints Policy

The procedure allows parents, carers or anyone else to raise a concern or complaint relating to the academy or Co-op Academies Trust.

The procedure is divided into three stages:

  • Stage One (The Informal Stage) you should speak to a staff member in the academy to see if they can resolve the issue.
  • Stage Two (The Formal Stage) is the point at which you should put the complaint in writing to the Headteacher or another senior member of staff. Where the complaint is against the Headteacher, you should write to the Chair of the Academy Community Council at our school address. Address the letter or email to ‘Chair of the Academy Community Council’.
  • Stage Three (Formal Resolution) is the final stage. It involves a hearing before a panel including members of the Resolutions Team who will review the complaint in its entirety.

Contact the Trust

Any complaint or concern should be raised via the Chair of the Community Council. This is clearly outlined in our Complaints Policy. The contact for our Community Council is Sally Birkbeck:

Remote learning

Generally, Co-op Academy Southfield does not provide remote education. However, the circumstances where it might not be possible for pupils to receive in person education fit into 2 broad categories:

  1. individual cases where a pupil is unable to attend school but is able to learn;
  2. school closures or restrictions on attendance, where school access for pupils is restricted.

Where an individual pupil is unable to attend school, but is able to learn (category 1 above), the processes in our Children with health needs who cannot attend school Policy and in our Attendance Policy will apply.
