Wuthering Ice!
A Very Special Visitor!
On Wednesday we had some very special visitors at Co-op Academy Southfield. The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Beverley Mullaney came to visit some of our students with Bradford’s brand-new grit spreader.
Classes 107 and 209 had entered a competition to name the new gritter. As part of their curriculum, they had been looking at Bradford and some of the famous people who hail from the city. Some of the names suggested were Ice Hockney, Titus Salt, Dynamo and Zayn Gritter; but the winner was Jimmi-Jack with his fantastic entry "Wuthering Ice"!
The students had a lot of fun creating the names for the competition and even more fun experiencing sitting in the gritter, ably helped by the fantastic visiting council staff who allowed every student who wanted to, a turn sitting in the gritter.

Jimmi-Jack loved speaking to the Lord Mayor and said “My mum will be proud of me”.
