Dear parents and carers,

We are very pleased that again this year we are joined one day per week by Tammy Smith, Speech and Language Therapist.

Tammy will work across the academy to help teachers to plan and deliver an offer and environment that is communication friendly for all our pupils. She will also help teachers and classroom staff to create and update thorough ‘This Is Me’ documents for each child, so that everyone in school fully understands the communication needs of all our pupils.

Part of this work may involve Tammy observing and making Speech and Language recommendations around whole class groups or individual children, where a Speech and Language plan does not already exist.

Tammy’s work in school will not affect any individual NHS or private Speech and Language Therapy that your child has either in school or outside of school.

If, for any reason, you do not wish for Tammy to make recommendations to the class teacher concerning your child please do let me know.
