In response to the devastating events that are ongoing in The Ukraine  , One of our teachers, Adele, asked the staff from Co-op Academy Southfield for any donations of clothes, hygiene products, blankets, toys and nappies etc that could be sent to Poland  to show support from the UK   for the refugees fleeing the war. We were inundated with items. The students discussed the events and talked about what refugees were and how we could help them. The students sorted all the donations into categories and labelled the boxes for the customs check. When the van arrived to take them to the drop off, the students carried the boxes  to the van. When the volunteers thanked them, one student said “It’s ok, we want to help the people. The war makes us feel bad and it makes us sad!” We also raised £73 from monetary donations. Peace for Ukraine
