Guidance for parents/carers in the case of bad weather
It is our policy to keep the academy open wherever possible. If, however, PTS (student transport) are not able to run, Southfield School will be closed to all students.
Please assume the academy is open unless you hear otherwise. The Department for Education recognises the delivery of education to pupils as an essential service, as do we.
If we do have to close, parents/carers will be informed in the following ways:
- The academy website
- By text/app message
- Information will be transmitted on local radio stations, and on the Bradford Council website at https://www.bradford.gov.uk/education-and-skills/school-holidays-and-term-dates/school-closures/
This situation is highly unlikely and will be avoided wherever possible.
There is no need to contact the academy to check whether or not the academy is open. Unless announced as above, we are open.
Keeping in touch
It is equally important that we have up to date contact information so that we can keep in touch with you should we need to. To inform us of a change of mobile number, please contact Campus Reception on 01274 779662 and speak to a member of our admin team who will update your details as soon as possible.
