Learning to Learn
The Year 7 curriculum at Southfield is an organic, behaviour for learning curriculum based on the academy code of conduct.
The ’Learning to Learn’ curriculum has been designed to support each new student to become an integral part of Southfield. It develops a sense of belonging and helps students know that they are valued members of the academy. This is their community and they are proud to be part of it.
Year 7 is designed to support each new student to become an integral part of Co-op Academy Southfield, to develop a sense of belonging and for all students to know that they are valued members of the school who are ready to learn. This is their school community and they are proud to be part of it.
Behaviour for Learning
Positive relationships are at the core of our Behaviour for Learning curriculum. At Southfield we work hard to build positive relationships with all students. Behaviour for learning is an ‘attitude’ to learning which our students acquire through the effective use of positive feedback and rewards. This positive ethos enables our students to mature and progress to the best of their ability and promotes students self reflection and self regulation skills, leading on to the next steps towards confident, resilient and independent.
